This seminar is an introduction to two of the many biological
environments of Southern California. The class consists of two
lectures on campus and two field trips on a Saturday. On the
first trip we will examine the rich biological diversity to be
found in the intertidal communities of our rocky shores. The
second field trip will explore Coastal Sage Scrub, the set of
plants and animals that dominate the coastal hills of Orange
County. Meetings: Introductory meetings: 2 -3pm, April 8 and
April 15 in MH 5248. Field trips: Saturday, April 10, noon-
3pm, Little Corona Cove. Saturday, April 17, 9:00AM - Noon,
Laguna Coast Wilderness Park.
