Description: This seminar will use printed, film and web based resources to learn about the genetic underpinning and technology used
in modern DNA profiling. We will explore a number of its applications, depending on the interests of the participants, which might include crime solving, parentage and heredity, history and anthropology, gene testing and DNA data banking. Legal and pubic policy issues will also be considered. Participants will be expected to read and discuss one book, complete web-based tutorials and problem sets, and participate in class discussions.
