This field-based seminar will provide an overview of the
biology of insects, including the major groups of insects and
their interactions with each other and with plants. Course
requirements include an introductory lecture on insect
biology (9:00 - 11:00, Wednesday April 7th), a
weekend field trip to one or more sites in Orange County for
observing and collecting insects (Saturday April 10, 9am-3pm),
and a lab session for the inspection and identification of
collected insects (9:00 - 11:00, Wednesday April 14).
Students must provide their own transportation for
the field trip.
