We will discuss current issues in the news that have a link to science or medicine. Recent advances in medical care, new molecular biology advances that may affect your daily life, and science that relates to global or local politics are all fair game. The seminal will be a mixture of student presentations, in class discussions of material read before-hand or viewed during class, and in class activities. NOVA and the New York Times are major sources of the information to be covered.
