Title Genetics and Society
Description In this class, we will visit labs to get a feel for how genetics is used today to discover how biology works and to discover cures for human diseases. We will discuss basic genetic principles and how genetics impacts us/you in our everyday lives. For example, we will discuss birth defects, DNA finger printing, Forensic uses of DNA, medical uses of Genetics and ethical dilemmas raised by these emerging technologies and we will discuss different levels of career involvement within these areas.  Students will give presentations of the basis of various genetic diseases
